Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Term 1: Pollinator Garden
The students worked with Conservation Volunteers Australia and Byron Council to create a POLLINATOR garden. The students planted dozens of flowering native plants into a raised bed and an area beside the top classroom. The plants will encourage birds and invertebrates to visit the school and its veggie garden.
Each student received a potted native violet to plant at home.
Term 2: Valley of Small Schools Cross Country Carnival
Running, snow cones, face painting, and loads of fun was had at the VoSS Cross Country Carnival at The Pocket Public School.
Term 3: Excursion to Home of the Arts
Geer and Year 3 & 4 had a wonderful trip to HOTA to watch the stage production “Imagine”. Based on Alison Lester’s picture book of the same title, the actors brought the book to life and shared with us songs and stories about the power of the imagination.
Term 4: Remembrance Day
Our students led a moving Remembrance Day assembly, showing great respect and understanding as they honoured those who served, and those who continue to serve. A powerful reminder of the value of peace and remembrance. Students all made a poppy to lay at the base of the flag. Lest we Forget.
"Warm, caring, relaxed but professional atmosphere. Small classes means teachers can individualise teaching." — a parent of Wilsons Creek Public School
